Why Benzodiazapienes Cannot Interfere With Your Pregnancy Results
August 28th, 2007 by adminExpecting moms are concerned about the accuracy of the pregnancy tests. All pregnancy tests detect the presence of hCG, a special pregnancy hormone in the blood and urine. When the embryo begins to develop in the womb, it releases hCG. There are many factors that can influence the accuracy of the pregnancy results. These include implantation date, rate of hCG increase, sensitivity of the test methods, and consumption of fertility drugs.
When women experience anxiety, their doctors usually prescribe benzodiazapienes. One of the questions that they ask is “Can benzodiazapienes interfere with the pregnancy results?”
First, what is benzodiazapienes? Doctors use them to treat General Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Dentists sometimes prescribe it to their patients who are anxious about their future dental appointments. Prescribed drugs such as Valium, Xanax, , Librium, Atavan, Serax, and Lorazapam contains benzodiazapienes. They help you to relax and sleep better. However, you can get addicted to them and may experience seizure.
Benzodiazapienes are depressants or tranquilizers which depress your central nervous system. Unlike some fertility drugs, they do not contain hCG. In addition, they have no effect on the level of hCG in your body. Therefore, benzodiazapienes should not interfere with the pregnancy results.
